I'm a big fan of food and more importantly an appreciater of good food. That being said I plan to chronical some of my food journey's on this "log"; it'll be pretty sporatic, but check back every so often - I think I'll organize it by Metro-area.

Rudy's: verdict... phenominal. I have no words to describe how amazing this place is. The brisket is juicy the pork is juicy the sausages are flavorful and have the perfect "crunch" as you piece the skin. The pork loin was perhaps the biggest surprise, I knew the brisket would be amazing but the pork... I may have actually liked better - I recommend you go crazy and get both with a side of the creamed corn.

Corner Cafe: verdict... awesome B&G. Best B&G I've ever had, and the Morganville Cafe had a mean B&G. And to be honest these are pretty similar actually to those. But, you'll have to rise pretty early to get this lovely plate of awesomness cause they only serve until 11 and WILL run out if you wait till then (luckily we swiped the last of it). Can't really say too much here aside from if you like B&G you will love ever bit of these, awesome pepper flavor (though I added more) and a rich creamy gravy. It's one of those dishes that you'll order more than you need, eat more of that than you should, and feel terrible yet ready to do it again tomorrow.
Smokehouse BBQ: verdict... pretty terrible in my opinion. As a lover of BBQ this place just lacked punch plain and simple. That smoke flavor the name implies just wasn't there. And the sauce... I could have forgiven this mess if the meat was good but the BBQ sauce which is the foundation upon which some restaurants are built was pretty bad, and they had only one choice. If you only have one sauce it had better be solid (see Rudy's). Overall, I won't be revisiting this place if I can help it.

Ichiban: verdict... pretty darn good sushi at a really good value. I'd venture to say that the spicy tuna rolls are some of the best I've ever had and I've had a lot. Spicy Tuna is my go to roll, the standard by which I judge all sushi joints. Also... the Negri style Smoked Salmon was phenominal, ordered it on Thursday and only ordered 2 to try, wish I would have ordered 10, so good. Not the best sushi ever, just because selection wasn't great and the specialties did seem all that inspired. Stay away from the Green Tea ice cream though - I was super excited about this but it was an epic downer.
